Calculator won't open in Windows 11.添加时间：2025-08-14

I use the calculator on my phone but the windows one does work

make sure windows is fully updated

When was the last time it worked properly? Have you made any changes to your computer recently? What is your current Windows operating system and version? Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: winver

Hi John Dev,

This computer was unboxed and set up 4 or 5 weeks ago and the calculator hasn't ever worked.

The only changes would be the required and optional updates (Windows & Dell).

Windows 11 version 23H2; Build 22631.3296

- Press the Win key + I to open Settings.

- Apps -> Installed apps -> scroll down to Calculator

- Click the three dots on the RHS -> Advanced options

- Under Reset try Repair first and if still not working try Reset

Kindly try the methods below if it helps.

**Update Calculator app
Open Microsoft Store then Click 3 dots
Select Library
Update Calculator or click Update all

**Reset the Calculator app
Press Start then search Apps and Features
Search and click Calculator app
Click advanced options > Reset

**Reinstall Calculator app via PowerShell.
Press Windows key+X then select PowerShell(Admin)
Copy and paste the command to uninstall Calculator app

get-appxpackage *windowscalculator* | remove-appxpackage

After that, Proceed to reinstall Calculator app
Open Microsoft Store then search Windows Calculator
Click Install

or Install Calculator via PowerShell
Press Windows key+X then select PowerShell(Admin)
copy paste the following then hit Enter:

Get-AppXPackage *windowscalculator* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your computer

John Dev, our IT department has locked/disabled the Microsoft Store, so that isn't an option.

I'll attempt the other suggestions tomorrow.

Why would windows need to be updated? Calculator has been here since Windows 3.0 (at least that's when I first used it).
It wasn't broken, why did you fix it Microsoft?

Why would a calculator need to be updated? I'm glad I have a desktop model that I can use without any Microsoft help.
